We don’t have much—just a simple morning, a warm bottle of milk for him, and a cup of coffee for me. But in that quiet, fleeting moment, the world seems to pause just long enough to listen to a child’s laughter. He babbles on about stories that begin nowhere and go everywhere, his tiny fingers wrapped around mine, as if afraid a soft breeze might carry his dad away.
